They think he is the strongest one, but it also helps when he is willful and stubborn too. He is an anti-smoker and his idol is Yoshiki from X-Japan (Yoshiki even produced some of their music.) Shinya listens to pop music and even tried to create some music for their band. It's amazing to watch Shinya do the most difficult drumming ever while appearing to sit still with a flat face.
